SOLAR SYSTEMS
The cost depends entirely on your consumption profile and
requirements. A basic 3–5kW hybrid system for a residential
property starts in the range of USD 3,000–6,000 for supply
and installation. A 100kW institutional installation is a
significantly larger investment. We do not quote without a site
visit — you deserve an accurate number, not a range pulled
from a catalogue.
A standard residential hybrid system (5–15kW) typically takes
2–4 days from first day on site to commissioning sign-off.
Larger commercial and institutional systems are planned in
stages with agreed milestones. We do not give you a
completion date we cannot keep.
A grid-tied system feeds into your existing ZESA connection
but provides no backup when the grid fails. A hybrid system
adds battery storage — your solar charges the batteries
during the day, and the batteries power your critical circuits
when the grid goes down. For most Zimbabwean clients,
hybrid is the appropriate choice given grid instability.
Yes. Where utility liaison or regulatory approval is required,
Pro Electrics manages the process as part of the installation
scope.
It depends on your consumption and your budget for panels
and battery capacity. We design systems for your specific load
— we do not sell you a system that covers 40% of your needs
and call it done. During the site assessment, we assess what
you actually use and design accordingly.
We source solar equipment through Solar Energy Projects,
our primary solar supplier. Current brands in our installations
include Sunsynk inverters, JinKo panels and compatible
battery solutions. We specify what is appropriate for your
system requirements — not what we have in stock.
ELECTRICAL INSTALLATIONS
Common signs include: circuits tripping frequently without
obvious cause; earth leakage not present or failing tests; DB is
older than 15 years; you are adding high-consumption
appliances (geyser, pump, EV charger) to a board that was
not designed for them; you are adding solar to a property with
an undersized or non-compliant board. A site assessment will
tell you definitively.
Yes. We respond to emergency fault callouts within 24 hours.

number. For urgent callouts, WhatsApp is typically faster.
Yes. We carry out electrical inspections on residential and
commercial properties and issue commissioning
documentation. We also advise on any non-compliance
identified during inspection.
Yes and we have significant experience doing so. Rewiring
an occupied property requires sequencing the work to
minimise disruption, managing power outages around the
residents’ schedule and restoring circuits at the end of each
working day. It takes longer than rewiring an empty property.
We plan for that time in the quotation.
PROCESS & COMPLIANCE
Yes, entirely. No call-out fee, no assessment charge, no
obligation to proceed. We invest the time in a site visit
because it is the only way to give you an accurate proposal. It
typically takes 30–60 minutes.
At the close of every project, we provide you with:
commissioning test results, system schematics or as-installed
drawings (where applicable), equipment documentation and
warranty cards, our 6-month workmanship warranty certificate
and a contact sheet for after-sales support. You leave with a
physical record of everything installed and tested.
Yes. Pro Electrics is registered with the Procurement
Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (PRAZ). Registration No.
PR2644852077. Categories: SI002, GE001, GS004.
All installations carry a 6-month workmanship warranty
covering any defects or failures caused by the quality of
installation. This is in addition to manufacturer warranties on
all supplied components — which vary by product but typically
range from 1 to 10 years. Warranty terms are documented in
the handover package.
Yes. We carry out diagnostic visits on solar and electrical
systems regardless of who originally installed them. We will
assess honestly, tell you what is wrong and what it will cost to
fix. We do not hold client history hostage to the original
installer.
Yes. We have completed projects in Victoria Falls, Kariba and
other locations outside Harare. For remote projects, travel and
accommodation are factored into the project cost. Our Kariba
marine installation (2026) is our most recent out-of-Harare
