SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT & QUALITY

SHEQ is not a policy document filed in a drawer. It is how we operate on every site, every day, without exception.

Electrical work carries inherent risk to the people doing it, to the people living or working in the building, and to every future user of the installation. Health and safety obligations in the electrical contracting industry are not peripheral. They are the foundation that everything else is built on. Pro Electrics operates a full SHEQ framework that applies to every project without scaling based on size or value. A residential DB upgrade and a 100kW institutional solar installation receive the same pre-start safety brief, the same PPE enforcement, the same incident reporting protocol and the same post-commissioning documentation.

Site Safety
Mandatory PPE Compliance

Pro Electrics operates a full SHEQ framework that applies to every project without scaling based on size or value. Toolbox Talks

Structured toolbox talks are conducted at the start of each new site phase and following any significant change in scope or site conditions. These are not informal briefings — they follow a defined structure covering: site-specific hazards, task-specific risks, emergency procedures, first aid locations and the day's work sequence. All toolbox talks are recorded. Duration is typically 10–15 minutes but is extended as required.

Electrical Isolation Procedures

All electrical work proceeds on de-energised circuits wherever practicable. Where live work cannot be avoided, it is carried out only by experienced technicians under direct supervisor oversight, with appropriate insulation, isolation and safe-work procedures in place. We do not allow untrained personnel to work on or near live electrical equipment under any circumstances.

Incident Reporting & Review

Formal incident reporting is in place for all supervisors. Every near-miss, injury or safety concern regardless of severity is reported, recorded and reviewed. We maintain a running incident log and use it to inform site procedure improvements. Near-miss reporting is actively encouraged: we treat a near-miss as a learning event, not a liability.

Site Access & Conduct

Site access standards are maintained throughout all projects. Unauthorised personnel do not access active work areas. Client property is treated with care. Work areas are left clean, secured and hazard-free at the close of each working day. We manage client notification for any work affecting power supply or access — always with advance notice and within agreed windows.

Testing & Commissioning

Electrical Installation Testing

Every electrical installation is tested against defined performance benchmarks before sign-off. Our standard commissioning test sequence includes:
• Insulation resistance testing on all circuits
• Earth continuity testing and earth fault loop impedance measurement
• Polarity verification on all outlets and terminations
• Functional load testing of all circuits under normal operating conditions
• Earth leakage protection trip testing
• Visual inspection against the approved schematic

No installation is handed over without verified test results. Results are recorded and included in the client handover package.

Solar & Hybrid System Commissioning

Solar and hybrid systems undergo a dedicated commissioning protocol before client acceptance:
• Panel output measurement against rated specifications
• Inverter programming verification and parameter review
• Battery charge cycle test full charge from solar generation
• Battery discharge test load applied, SOC monitored
• Grid connection verification (grid-tied systems)
• Islanding protection test (hybrid systems)
• Performance output recorded and compared against design specification

If commissioning results fall short of design specification, we investigate and rectify before handover. Commissioning does not end when we decide it is done it ends when the numbers confirm it.

Quality Assurance Checkpoints

Quality assurance operates throughout the project, not only at final commissioning. Inspection checkpoints are applied at:
• Rough-in inspection — before any concealment of cables or conduit
• Board inspection — before energisation of the distribution board
• Completion inspection — before commissioning commences
• Final sign-off — after commissioning, before handover

Each checkpoint is reviewed by the site supervisor and any non-conforming work is corrected before the project advances to the next stage.

Quality Assurance

• All supervisors are directly and personally accountable for the standard of work delivered on their assigned projects
• No component substitution without client notification and written approval
• Defined warranty periods with documented responsibilities for workmanship and component failures
• Client records, test documentation and system specifications retained for the full lifetime of the contract relationship
• Commissioning results documented and included in every formal handover package
• Post-handover callouts responded to within 24 hours

Environmental Responsibility

Pro Electrics conducts all work with regard for the surrounding environment. Waste cable, packaging and replaced components are removed from client sites and disposed of responsibly we do not leave construction waste on client properties. Solar installations are planned to minimize roof penetrations and structural impact, with waterproofing integrity maintained on all panel mounting work. We do not use materials or disposal methods that we would not be comfortable explaining to a client.
